Zardari met with Maulana for two-thirds majority, investigations should cover other issues: Mahmood Achakzai

Mardan: Mahmood Khan Achakzai, Chairman of the Pashtunkhwa Milli Awami Party, stated that Asif Ali Zardari had met with Maulana Fazlur Rehman to discuss achieving a two-thirds majority.

He emphasized that investigations should not only focus on the events of May 9 but also cover other issues.

Speaking at a “Meet the Press” event at the Mardan Press Club, Achakzai claimed that Zardari sought a two-thirds majority through his meeting with Maulana Fazl.

He also accused political parties of accepting bribes under the guise of donations.

Achakzai highlighted that the primary issue in Pakistan is the right to rule.

He claimed that PTI has won the elections across the country and has the right to govern.

On the subject of May 9, he reiterated that investigations should extend beyond that date to other matters as well.

He argued that if the constitution had been upheld, Pakistan might not have faced its current issues, and incidents like Bhutto’s execution and Benazir Bhutto’s assassination could have been avoided.

Achakzai expressed that Pakistan is facing severe internal problems and is being ravaged like prey.

He called for equal rights for all nationalities residing in the country, stating that they are not seeking charity but their rightful share.

The Pashtunkhwa Milli Awami Party Chairman asserted that the country cannot function without the army and agencies and stressed the need for constitutional supremacy and recognition of Parliament as the source of power.

Achakzai also revealed that he had declined an offer for a ministerial position from Nawaz Sharif in the past.
