Cape Town: Two South African farmers set a record by growing a 462-gram plum.
According to international media, owners of the Oppie Plaas Boerdery farm, Dan and Devin Barnard, stated that they had never tried to set a record with the plums they grew.
Speaking to Guinness World Records, Dan Barnard said the plums were not grown with the intention of breaking records.
The tree that produced the record-setting plum had 150 plums, and no special preparation was made for it.
Previously, the record was held by a plum grown in Japan in 2021, which weighed 107 grams less than this one.
