Wildfire burns half of Canada’s historic town

According to a British news agency, authorities have reported that a wildfire has consumed half of the historic town of Jasper, located in Alberta’s mountainous region, known for its beauty and popularity among tourists.

Authorities stated that the wildfire has engulfed half of Jasper, and it remains uncontrollable. Firefighters are working to save several buildings from the blaze.

According to officials, all roads in the eastern part of Jasper National Park are affected by the fire. Fortunately, no casualties have been reported so far, but around 20,000 tourists and nearly 5,000 locals have been evacuated from the area.

Officials reported that approximately 30 to 50 percent of the town’s buildings have been destroyed by the fire.

Firefighters from around the world have been deployed to control the blaze, but they are currently facing challenges.
