We’ve come here with the aim to win the Asia Cup: Head Coach of Pakistan Women’s Team

Head coach Mohammad Waseem of the Pakistan women’s cricket team stated that the conditions at the Dambulla ground are favorable for spinners, which is why only one fast bowler is included in the playing eleven.

He explained that sometimes they field two leg-spinners and at other times left-arm spinners, emphasizing that spin bowling is their strength.

The head coach also mentioned that the batters have been instructed to play aggressively and maintain a better strike rate.

He credited Gul Feroza and Muneeba Ali for their excellent batting, noting that both batters have established consecutive century partnerships in two matches.

Mohammad Waseem said that modern cricket requires modern coaches who work with contemporary methods and data analysis.

He admitted that the team faced difficulties in the first match due to not executing their plans but noted improvements in performance since then.

Waseem stressed that the team is on the right track and needs to maintain the same mindset against strong opponents in upcoming matches.

He believes that to get the best performance from the players, they must be given the freedom to showcase their talent.

He added that bowling remains their strong suit, with improvements seen in fielding and batting.

The hard work done in the camp is paying off, and they want the players to adopt a more aggressive batting approach, given the favorable conditions for spinners.

The head coach praised the young bowlers for their excellent performance and expressed a strong desire to win the semi-finals and finals, noting that more than half of the work is still pending.

The team has reached the semi-finals of the Asia Cup after victories against Nepal and UAE.
