London: Research has revealed that the popular weight loss drug Wegovy may reduce the risk of heart attacks and strokes.
Dr. John Deanfield, the lead author of the study published by University College London, stated that this discovery helps to alleviate concerns among patients using Wegovy who were worried about its potential side effects.
He emphasized the significance of these findings, especially since there were previous concerns that Wegovy could be harmful to some heart disease patients, particularly those with a condition known as low ejection fraction. However, recent research contradicts this belief.
Professor Deanfield, a cardiology professor at the university, added that their results indicate that Wegovy could benefit individuals with various heart conditions as well.
