US is supporting 60% of Pakistan’s energy needs, says US Ambassador

Islamabad: The US Ambassador to Pakistan, Donald Bloom, stated that the United States is helping Pakistan meet 60% of its energy needs from environmentally friendly sources by 2030.

The US has contributed $5 billion to the Green Climate Fund for this purpose.

Speaking at an event titled “Recharge Pakistan” organized by the Pakistan Institute of Parliamentary Services, the US Ambassador added that the “Recharge Pakistan” initiative is based on the US-Pakistan partnership, with an additional $5 million provided by the US as a testament to its commitment to a bright future for the Pakistani people.

According to online sources, Ambassador Donald Bloom met with Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar to discuss regional issues, including the protection of Afghan refugees and asylum seekers, economic cooperation, security, counterterrorism, and regional collaboration.
