Geneva: The United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres has responded to the Israeli Parliament’s resolution against the establishment of a Palestinian state.
According to international news agencies, UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres expressed profound disappointment with the resolution passed by the Israeli Parliament against the Palestinian state.
UN spokesperson Stéphane Dujarric reflected his sentiments, stating that such a vote cannot negate the two-state solution.
The statement added that, according to the Secretary-General, the two-state solution remains the only sustainable path that can lead Israel and the Palestinians towards peace and stability.
It is worth noting that the resolution passed by the Israeli Parliament yesterday saw 120 members voting in favor and 68 against.
The United Nations, the United States, and Arab countries support the establishment of a Palestinian state.
