U.S. considers sanctions on Israeli Ministers for inciting violence against Palestinians

Washington: The Israeli government may impose sanctions on two extremist Israeli ministers for inciting violence against unarmed Palestinians in the West Bank.

According to Arab media, a National Security Council meeting at the White House discussed the violent agendas of Israeli Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich and National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir in the West Bank.

The meeting noted reports indicating that despite U.S. warnings, some Israeli ministers are encouraging Jewish settlers to commit violence against Palestinians.

The National Security meeting also considered what types and levels of sanctions could be imposed on Bezalel Smotrich and Itamar Ben-Gvir.

It is noteworthy that earlier this year, the U.S. imposed sanctions on Israeli settlers involved in violence against Palestinians in the West Bank.
