TV Anchor Aisha Jahanzeb and husband reach reconciliation in domestic violence case

Lahore: Aisha Jahanzeb, a prominent TV anchor, and her husband Haris Ali have reached a reconciliation.Details reveal significant progress in the case involving domestic violence by Aisha Jahanzeb’s husband.

Aisha Jahanzeb, accompanied by her lawyer Asim Mumtaz, appeared before the Lahore Sessions Court to record her statement, where a reconciliation between the couple was reached.

During the proceedings, the court asked Aisha Jahanzeb if she had come voluntarily, noting that her appearance suggested severe abuse.

Aisha Jahanzeb responded that while what happened was indeed severe and should not happen to any woman, she accepts the decision made by the respected authorities.

The anchor stated that she did not wish to pursue the case further and that the decision was made in the presence of witnesses.

After hearing Aisha Jahanzeb’s statement, the court said that the reconciliation was accepted for bail purposes, and the acquittal decision would depend on the trial’s outcome.

It is noteworthy that the Cantt Court had sent the accused Haris Ali on judicial remand to jail, and on July 10, Aisha Jahanzeb filed a complaint against her husband at the Sarwar Road Police Station.

The complaint stated that the husband had subjected her to physical violence multiple times, threatened her with a pistol at her temple, and abused her and their children on the day of the incident.
