TikTok parent company’s staff affected by food poisoning

Beijing: Several employees at ByteDance, the parent company of TikTok, have been hospitalized due to food poisoning at their Singapore office.

Health and food safety officials in the city-state have launched an investigation into the incident, which affected 60 individuals showing symptoms of gastroenteritis, with 57 requiring hospitalization.

ByteDance has stated that it is also investigating the cause of the employees’ illness.

According to BBC reports, seventeen ambulances were dispatched to the ByteDance building to treat the affected individuals.

A ByteDance spokesperson told the BBC that the company takes the health and safety of its employees very seriously and has taken immediate actions to assist all affected staff, including working with emergency services to provide care.
