Threats to life, death threats received: Mahmood Bhatti

Lahore: Renowned Pakistani fashion designer and Hilal-e-Imtiaz awardee Mahmood Bhatti has reported that his life is in danger and that he has been receiving death threats.

Speaking to the media after his appearance at Lahore’s Civil Court, Bhatti claimed that his land has been illegally occupied and that he has been running from one court to another for the past three years.

He stated that if anything happens to him, the responsibility would fall on those who have filed cases against him.

Judge Muhammad Waseem of Lahore’s Civil Court heard the case regarding the land encroachment involving Bhatti, who appeared in court to complete his attendance.

Bhatti’s lawyer explained that the dispute is between two brothers over the land, which Bhatti intends to use for an orphanage and a cemetery.

Judge Waseem has adjourned the hearing until September 12. Meanwhile, Judge Farhan Nabi of the Sessions Court has directed that Muneer Bhatti be presented at the next hearing for a defamation case against Mahmood Bhatti, with the hearing also adjourned until September 12.
