Thousands of hires in police and prisons discovered during caretaker government

Peshawar: It has been revealed that thousands of hires were made in the police and prison departments during the caretaker government in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

According to the report, from 2023 to February 2024, the caretaker government made 5,000 hires in the police and prison departments.

Additionally, details of billions of rupees worth of purchases for the police have also emerged.

Purchases included laptops, mobile phones, weapons, and traffic police equipment.

Former Speaker Mushtaq Ghani has submitted questions in the assembly regarding these hires and purchases during the caretaker government, with the Home Department’s response expected to be presented in the assembly today.

Government members in the provincial assembly have also raised objections to the budget of the caretaker government.
