The fourth day of the only Test match between Afghanistan and New Zealand has been cancelled due to rain and poor outfield conditions.
In Noida, India, the scheduled Test match between Afghanistan and New Zealand had to be cancelled for the fourth consecutive day due to inadequate arrangements and a wet outfield.
On September 9, the first day was cancelled because the stadium did not dry after light rain, making the outfield wet. The second day was also lost to attempts to dry the outfield.
On the third day, heavy rain again ruined the efforts of the ground staff, leading to the match being declared abandoned.
On the fourth day, conditions did not improve, with standing water on the ground causing further deepening of the pitches, increasing the risk of player injuries. Therefore, the play was cancelled.
The ground staff attempted to dry the field by removing wet patches and using fans, exposing the inadequacies of the richest board in the world.
It is worth noting that the only Test match between Afghanistan and India was part of the ICC World Test Championship.
Meanwhile, Afghan fans are expressing strong dissatisfaction with the hosting of an international match at a third-class stadium by India and are criticizing the Indian board.
