Mumbai: Bollywood actress Sonam Kapoor has expressed concern over the ongoing protests in Bangladesh and the increasing number of casualties.
For the past few days, students in Bangladesh have been protesting against the quota system and discrimination, resulting in over 91 deaths and hundreds of injuries.
There have also been widespread riots, vandalism, and arson in various parts of Bangladesh, with several police stations and the homes of two lawmakers being set on fire.
This situation has troubled people around the world, and Indian actress Sonam Kapoor has also shown sympathy towards the Bangladeshi people.
Sonam Kapoor shared a post on her official Instagram story regarding the ongoing protests in Bangladesh, stating that it is extremely frightening.
She urged her followers to join her in praying for the people of Bangladesh.
It is noteworthy that the civil disobedience movement that emerged from student protests against the quota system in Bangladesh led to the resignation of the country’s longest-serving Prime Minister, Sheikh Hasina.
Sheikh Hasina, along with her sister, departed for India on a special flight and was not allowed to record a speech before her resignation.
