Sindh Education Minister issues directive for 10% scholarship requirement in private schools

Karachi: Sindh’s Minister for Education and Mineral Development, Syed Sardar Ali Shah, has instructed that private schools must ensure 10% of students receive free or scholarship support.

He issued this directive during an informal meeting with officials from the Directorate of Inspection and Registration of Private Institutions.

Additional Director Rafia Mullah and other officials from the Directorate were present at the meeting.

Minister Shah stated that private schools are required to announce scholarships along with admission announcements at the start of the academic year.

He directed that advertisements for 10% free or scholarship places should be displayed outside private schools.

The Minister also instructed the Directorate to establish a complaint cell to address any grievances promptly.

A report on the implementation of the 10% scholarship requirement should be compiled. Students who meet merit and are deserving should receive fee concessions.

Additionally, he directed the establishment of a complaint cell to resolve issues related to free or scholarship provisions.
