Shah Rukh Khan decided to quit acting after failure of ‘Zero’

Mumbai: Bollywood King Shah Rukh Khan, who has been dominating the Indian film industry for three decades, revealed that he decided to take a break from acting temporarily after the failure of his film ‘Zero.’

According to Indian media, Shah Rukh Khan openly discussed the failure of his 2018 film ‘Zero’ in a recent interview.Shah Rukh Khan stated that the failure of ‘Zero’ had a profound impact on his career.

After this setback, he decided to take a break from films for a while, which lasted almost 5 years.

He made his comeback to the film industry in 2023 with the movie ‘Pathaan.’The mega star explained that after ‘Zero’ flopped in December 2018, he was supposed to start shooting a new film in January 2019.

However, one morning, he woke up and called the film’s producer to say that he did not want to work on the film and would be taking a year off from work.

The film, titled ‘Saare Jahaan Se Achha,’ was based on the life of the first Indian astronaut Rakesh Sharma, but Shah Rukh Khan refused to do it at the last moment.

Khan mentioned that the producer responded to his refusal by saying that if he didn’t like the film, he could back out, but he should not quit acting.

Shah Rukh Khan continued by saying that a year and a half later, he received a call from the same producer, who expressed disbelief that Khan had spent a whole year without acting.

After a 5-year hiatus, Shah Rukh Khan made his return to Bollywood in 2023 with the blockbuster film ‘Pathaan.’

Following ‘Pathaan,’ his films ‘Jawan’ and ‘Dunki’ were also released in 2023, all of which achieved record-breaking success

at the box office.
