Washington: A high-level delegation of senior judges from Pakistan visited the Pakistani embassy in Washington.
Today, Pakistan’s Ambassador to the US, Rizwan Saeed Sheikh, welcomed the delegation led by Supreme Court of Pakistan’s senior judge, Justice Shahid Waheed.
The delegation included distinguished judges from the Lahore, Sindh, Peshawar, and Islamabad High Courts, district judiciary judges, and the Additional Attorney General.
Mrs. Martina Polasek, Secretary-General of the International Centre for Conflict Resolution at the World Bank, Zamarak Khan, and other members of the US Department of Commerce’s Commercial Law Development Program also accompanied the delegation.
This high-level delegation is currently on a visit to the US, meeting with their counterparts to exchange knowledge and expertise to strengthen the environment for resolving domestic and cross-border disputes, improve contract enforcement, reduce the number of pending cases in courts, and ensure effective access to justice.
Justice Shahid Waheed described the visit as a journey of hope and dreams. He emphasized that Pakistan’s legal community is committed to ensuring an effective justice system in the country.
Mrs. Martina Polasek expressed hope that the visit of Pakistan’s senior judges and legal community members would promote information exchange and strengthen ties between the two countries in the field of law.
Additionally, Senior Supreme Court Judge Justice Mansoor Ali Shah will also travel to the US to participate in a legal seminar. He is scheduled to return on September 12 and will begin judicial work on September 16.
