Senator Talal Chaudhry, a central leader of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz, has stated that while social media regulations exist worldwide, Pakistan fails to implement these laws effectively.
Chaudhry remarked that Pakistan lacked regulations for social media, where people are sometimes blacklisted.
He emphasized the need for laws to properly regulate social media.
He also highlighted that investigative agencies should have the necessary resources to conduct thorough investigations, and it is the government’s responsibility to provide these technical tools.
Chaudhry questioned why, despite the global use of social media laws, their implementation is lacking in Pakistan.
He argued that without proper regulations, control is impossible.
In response to questions about rising taxes on the public, Chaudhry noted that Pakistan’s tax-to-GDP ratio is dangerously low, whereas countries around the world rely on taxes to function effectively.
