Lahore: The provincial government has ordered measures to ban the export of raw pink salt from Punjab.
Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has requested a comprehensive plan for the progress of pink salt exports and has directed to ensure the safety of mining workers.
Consideration is being given to proposals for using modern technology for mineral extraction in Punjab.
Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has issued directives to impose a ban on the export of raw pink salt, stating that valuable national resources should not be sold cheaply.
Maryam Nawaz emphasized that pink salt is akin to a treasure for Pakistan.
During a meeting chaired by Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, proposals were reviewed to generate revenue from pink salt. The meeting also evaluated plans for establishing a value-added industry for pink salt.
The meeting was attended by Provincial Minister for Information and Culture Azma Bukhari, Chief Secretary Zahid Akhtar Zaman, Principal Secretary Sajid Zafar Dal, and Secretary Mines Babar Aman Babar.
