The Punjab government has decided to release the arrested leaders and workers of Jamaat-e-Islami.
According to sources in the Interior Department, the decision to release the local leaders and workers of Jamaat-e-Islami was made based on a recommendation from the federal government.
The sources confirmed that the arrested leaders and workers of Jamaat-e-Islami will be released today.
It is noteworthy that Jamaat-e-Islami had announced a protest in Islamabad against inflation and taxes on electricity bills starting on the 26th.
Following this announcement, Jamaat-e-Islami workers and leaders were arrested across Punjab. Subsequently, negotiations led to the decision to release the workers.
Meanwhile, Jamaat-e-Islami’s protest continues at Liaquat Bagh in Rawalpindi.
