Lahore: The Punjab government has challenged the Lahore High Court’s decision to discharge Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Sanam Javed from the Gujranwala case in the Supreme Court.
Under the leadership of Maryam Nawaz, the Punjab government made a significant decision regarding Sanam Javed, challenging the Lahore High Court’s decision to discharge her from the case in the Supreme Court.
The Punjab government has filed an appeal against the decision of the two-member bench of the Lahore High Court, headed by Justice Asjad Javed Gharal, which had discharged Sanam Javed from the Gujranwala case.
It is worth mentioning that the two-member bench headed by Justice Asjad Javed Gharal had heard the case against Sanam Javed related to the events of May 9 in Gujranwala and had ordered her discharge from the case.
Sanam Javed was arrested from Lahore and multiple cases were registered against her in various cities concerning the events of May 9.
After being released in this case, she was re-arrested.
Subsequently, the Islamabad High Court had stopped the Quetta police from taking custody of Sanam Javed, summoned the relevant authorities, and ordered her release after completing the hearing.
