Lahore: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has expressed frustration over the continuous increase in chicken and poultry prices.
In a meeting chaired by Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz in Lahore, she expressed concern and frustration over the artificial increase in chicken prices.
Maryam Nawaz questioned the responsible authorities, stating that chicken prices have risen and asking where the responsible agencies are. She noted that chicken is widely consumed in Punjab and that such price hikes are unacceptable.
Maryam Nawaz stated that while poultry businesses should operate and earn legitimate profits, they should not place an undue burden on the public.
She emphasized that the public’s feelings are being considered, and that inflation cannot be allowed by mafias.
She added that while she does not wish harm upon anyone, the public should not be left at the mercy of these mafias. Inflation is unacceptable in any form, and all relevant agencies should conduct field monitoring.
The Chief Minister of Punjab ordered the formation of a regulatory mechanism to determine chicken prices, stating that prices should remain within the reach of the common person and that rates should be monitored.
