PTI Founder Imran Khan files petition against possible military custody

Lahore: Imran Khan, the founder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), has filed a petition against the potential transfer of his custody to the military.

The petition was submitted to the Lahore High Court through his lawyer, Azair Karamat.

The petition names the federal government and the IGs of all four provinces as parties.

In the petition, Imran Khan argues that the custody related to the May 9 case could be handed over to the army.

He has requested the court to order that custody in the May 9 cases remain with civilian courts and to issue a stay order.

In a statement yesterday, Imran Khan claimed that a narrative had been constructed to accuse him of inciting protests at GHQ.

He described May 9 as a false flag operation, asserting that those who stole the CCTV footage from May 9 are the real culprits.

He criticized the comparison of May 9 to the U.S. Capitol Hill protest, noting that in the U.S., only those directly involved were punished after a thorough investigation, whereas the entire Republican Party was not held accountable.
