Islamabad: Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL) has experienced a nationwide internet outage.
According to media, the disruption in internet service has caused significant inconvenience to the public, and banking and other government offices have halted operations.
Earlier, on July 26, the trial of a new internet security network system had not only slowed down internet speeds but also affected social media applications.
Reports suggest that officials involved with the new internet security network have indicated that the slowdown is due to the firewall testing, which has been confirmed by senior authorities.
The installation of the firewall system in the country began in January 2024, and the current phase involves its trial.
