Dhaka: In Sirajganj, Bangladesh, an attack on the Inayatpur police station resulted in the deaths of 13 police officers.
According to international news agencies, during a civil disobedience movement in Bangladesh, a group of angry individuals raided the Inayatpur police station.
The mob vandalized the station, set part of it on fire, and assaulted the officers.
The Bangladesh Police Headquarters confirmed that at least 13 officers were killed in the attack on the Inayatpur police station.
Additionally, attacks on dozens of other police stations across the country have left over 300 officers injured.
The statement mentioned that several police stations nationwide were targeted during the civil disobedience movement, including Jatra Bari and Khulgaon police stations in Dhaka Metropolitan Police, Gorai Highway Police Station in Tangail, Sherpur Police Station in Bogura, and Joypurhat.
Attacks were also reported at the President Police Station in Joypurhat, the Eliottganj Highway Police Station in Comilla, Ashuganj Police Station in Brahmanbaria, and the Shahzadpur police station in Sirajganj, as well as on police superintendent offices in Narayanganj, Bogura, Pabna, and Sirajganj.
It is noted that the civil disobedience movement in Bangladesh has resulted in over 50 deaths and more than 200 injuries among protesters.
