Peshawar: Police claim to have arrested the suspects in the murder of journalist Malik Hassan Zaib in Nowshera.
According to the DPO of Nowshera, the victim, Hassan Zaib, was involved in numerous business transactions, selling mobile phones, electronics, and motorcycles on installments.
He was killed over a personal dispute related to a plot.
The DPO stated that Hassan Zaib had sold a plot to the suspects for 3.7 million rupees.
Disputes over payment delays escalated into a fight, leading to Zaib’s murder over ongoing disputes, insults, and threats.
The DPO confirmed that both suspects named in the case, Ashfaq and his son, have been arrested and have confessed to the crime.
During the investigation, the suspects revealed that the victim’s first wife’s brother, Bilal, was also involved in the murder.
Bilal facilitated the hiring of a contract killer, who was paid 100,000 rupees. Police have launched a search for Bilal and the contract killer.
The DPO stated that the police have resolved the murder case of journalist Malik Hassan Zaib within 10 days and have obtained a two-day physical remand of the arrested suspects.
It is noteworthy that on July 14, journalist Malik Hassan Zaib was shot and killed by motorcyclists in the Akbarpur area.
