Plan to store endangered animals on moon

Washington DC: Scientists have revealed a plan to store endangered animals on the Moon.

According to the scientists, this lunar storage facility will help preserve samples of endangered species from Earth. This way, the animals can be protected from threats on Earth.

The scientists explained that this method could provide a way to maintain a long-term record of these animals, which might be difficult to achieve on Earth.

The animals will be “cryopreserved” to ensure they are kept in a viable state.

Cryopreservation is a method where cells, tissues, or other biological entities are cooled to extremely low temperatures to preserve them.

The team working under the guidance of Mary Hedgdon has proposed this concept in their new paper, suggesting that the facility be established on the Moon.

The storage will be located near the Moon’s poles, where it will remain in perpetual shadow, with temperatures dropping below minus 196 degrees Celsius. Thus, the facility will function like a freezer.

Researchers believe this facility could store biological samples for extended periods.
