PIA completes post-Hajj operation 2024, 34,663 pilgrims returned

Karachi: PIA’s post-Hajj operation for 2024 has concluded, with 143 flights operating to bring back 34,663 pilgrims to Pakistan.

The operation, which began on May 9 and ended on July 21, followed a pre-Hajj phase from May 9 to June 11, and the post-Hajj phase from June 20 to July 21.

According to PIA, the post-Hajj operation included 61 flights to Jeddah and 82 flights to Medina. Of the returning pilgrims, 19,278 were government-sponsored, 14,754 were private pilgrims, and 631 were officials.

PIA’s schedule was well-maintained throughout the operation, and city check-in services were provided, eliminating the need for pilgrims to arrive at the airport hours in advance.

The CEO of PIA praised the teams involved for their performance, noting that despite challenging conditions, the operation was managed efficiently and effectively in both Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.
