Lahore: The crescent moon for the month of Safar al-Muzaffar 1446 Hijri was not sighted across the country.
According to media, meetings of moon sighting committees were held to observe the crescent moon for Safar 1446 Hijri, with participation from meteorological department and SUPARCO officials.
No reports of the moon being sighted were received by the zonal moon sighting committees from across the country. Consequently, the central moon sighting committee announced that the crescent for Safar was not seen.
According to the notification from the Ministry of Religious Affairs, due to the moon not being sighted, August 6 (Tuesday) will be the 30th of Muharram al-Haram, and the 1st of Safar al-Muzaffar 1446 Hijri will be on August 7 (Wednesday).
