A new study has revealed that consistent, regular sleep can lower the risk of developing Type 2 diabetes.
The research conducted in the U.S. found that individuals with irregular sleep patterns (where the average difference in sleep duration was more than 60 minutes daily) had a 34% higher risk of diabetes compared to those with regular sleep schedules.
The results emphasize that regular sleep is crucial for diabetes prevention.
Study lead Sina Kianersi stated that the findings highlight the importance of lifestyle changes in reducing diabetes risk.
The study showed that maintaining regular sleep could be a key factor in lowering Type 2 diabetes risk.
The researchers monitored participants’ sleep for seven nights and then followed up with them over a period of seven years.
