Islamabad: The Election Commission has updated and released the list of registered political parties, making changes for various parties but not updating the name of the chairman of PTI.
According to media, the Election Commission’s new list reveals that 166 political parties are registered with the commission.
The internal elections of the Pakistan Muslim League (Nawaz) have been recognized, with Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif as the party president.
Similarly, the Election Commission has acknowledged the internal elections of Jamaat-e-Islami.
The Commission has updated the names of new party presidents or chairmen for several political parties, but the name of the chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has not yet been updated.
Mian Nawaz Sharif’s name is listed as the president of PML-N, while Naeem-ur-Rehman Khan is recognized as the Amir of Jamaat-e-Islami, and Mahmood Khan is listed as the chairman of PTI Parliamentarians.
President Asif Ali Zardari’s name remains as the president of Pakistan Peoples Party Parliamentarians, and Bilawal Bhutto Zardari is listed as the chairman of Pakistan Peoples Party.
Asfandyar Wali Khan’s name remains as the president of Awami National Party, and Pak Sarzameen Party is also included in the list of registered parties.
