Neurosurgeon under investigation for allowing his 13-year-old daughter to drill hole in patient’s skull

Graz: A neurosurgeon in Austria is under investigation for allegedly allowing his 13-year-old daughter to drill a hole into a patient’s skull during a brain surgery.

According to media reports, a 33-year-old man suffered a severe head injury in a serious accident in the forest and was taken to the University Hospital Graz in the city of Graz, Austria.

However, when he was taken to the operating room, the female neurosurgeon on duty, whose name has not been disclosed for privacy reasons, allowed her 13-year-old daughter to drill a hole in the unconscious patient’s skull.

Fortunately, the operation was successful, and the injured man recovered. No one outside the operating room was aware of the girl’s active role in the procedure.

However, in July, an unknown individual lodged a complaint with the public prosecutor’s office in Graz about the involvement of the minor girl in the operation.
