Houston: NASA has announced the selection of a third volunteer team for its Mars simulation mission.
NASA periodically includes volunteer teams in its Mars simulation environments on Earth to better understand human responses to conditions on Mars.
Volunteers Erin Anderson, Sergey Iikimov, Brendan Kent, and Sarah Elizabeth McCandless will spend time in a Mars-like artificial environment at NASA’s Johnson Space Center in Houston starting August 9.
The four-person team will remain inside a 650-square-foot area for 45 days and will exit on September 23. Jason Staggs and Anderson Wilder will serve as backup crew members.
