NASA discovers pure Sulfur on Mars for first time

NASA scientists have discovered pure sulfur on the surface of Mars for the first time.

The discovery was made accidentally by NASA’s Curiosity rover while it was traversing a rock.

The rover identified yellow sulfur crystals, which appear to be abundantly present in that area. This finding was entirely unexpected.

Although sulfur-based minerals have been observed on Mars before, pure sulfur had never been seen until now.

NASA’s statement explained that the formation of pure sulfur occurs only under specific conditions.

According to the statement, the Curiosity rover was traveling in the Gediz Vallis region of Mars when a rock broke apart due to an accident.

Scientists believe that water once flowed through this region in ancient times.
