Srinagar: A mysterious explosion at a scrap dealership in the Sopore area of occupied Kashmir resulted in the deaths of four individuals.
According to Indian media, the incident occurred while unloading scrap from a truck arriving from Ladakh. During the process, a powerful explosion occurred.
The explosion was so intense that it shattered the windows of nearby vehicles.
Three youths died on the spot, while one succumbed to injuries at the hospital. All four victims were Muslims.
The deceased were identified as 40-year-old Nazir Ahmed, 20-year-old Azeem Ashraf Mir, 23-year-old Adil Rashid Bhatt, and 25-year-old Muhammad Azhar, who were unloading scrap from the truck.
Police stated that the cause of the explosion has not yet been determined.
Forensic teams have collected samples from the scene, and the analysis is ongoing. There is no evidence of terrorism involved in the incident.
A police spokesperson further mentioned that a team has been dispatched to the location from where the scrap originated.
Eyewitnesses reported that some military equipment was among the scrap being unloaded from the truck, suggesting it might have come from a military base.
However, the police dismissed this notion, stating that the scrap came from a private entity in Ladakh.
