Maria B. criticizes Asim Abbasi over ‘Barzakh’ for depicting homosexuality

Karachi: Renowned Pakistani fashion designer Maria B. has once again voiced her opposition to homosexuality, this time targeting Asim Abbasi, the director of the web series ‘Barzakh’.

In a message posted on her official Instagram account, Maria B. addressed Abbasi, stating that they would not become accustomed to his agenda nor allow such “filth” to spread among their children.

She criticized the series for depicting what she considers the gravest sins, such as fornication, obscenity, and homosexuality, with “shamelessness.”

Maria B. sarcastically remarked that Abbasi appears to have compiled a list of the greatest sins mentioned in the Quran and turned it into a series, using it to promote sins, obscenity, child manipulation, magic, and homosexuality.

Maria B. claimed that the team behind ‘Barzakh’ has played with the sentiments of the 250 million people of Pakistan for a few million rupees and has broken their hearts.

She assured that they would not let Abbasi’s agenda succeed.

She urged the Pakistani public and all parents to unite against this agenda, to protect their children, and promised to take legal action against the promotion of obscenity, vowing that they would prevail in court.

It is noted that the third episode of the series ‘Barzakh’, starring Fawad Khan and Sanam Saeed, features romantic scenes and affection between two male characters.

The web series ‘Barzakh’, written and directed by Pakistani filmmaker Asim Abbasi, was produced by Indian producers for the Indian streaming platform ZEE5.
