Shenzhen, China: A Chinese citizen lost an eye after attempting to swat a fly that landed on his face.
According to media reports, the man was busy with his tasks when a fly continuously buzzed around him. When the fly landed near his mouth, he swatted it away.
However, the man soon noticed that his left eye became red and inflamed, causing severe pain. He sought medical attention and was given treatment.
Despite medication, his condition did not improve, and his vision began to deteriorate.
Doctors found that an infection had caused severe ulcers in his eye and the surrounding area.
To prevent the infection from spreading to his brain, the doctors had to remove the affected eye.
