Lahore: LESCO has released details regarding net metering or solar connections.
A LESCO spokesperson stated that the process for installing a net meter is simple and transparent. If a private company is charging extra fees, it is not associated with LESCO.
There is no room for corruption in the net meter installation process. If any LESCO employee requests a bribe, it should be reported to senior officials.
According to the spokesperson, there is no room for corrupt practices within LESCO. LESCO only issues No Objection Certificates (NOCs) for net meters.Customers can purchase net meters from any approved company.
LESCO does not charge any fees other than installation charges, name changes, and load extensions. For domestic users, the charges for name changes and load extensions are 1220 rupees per kilowatt.
For commercial users, the charges for name changes and load extensions are 1810 rupees per kilowatt.
Applications for NOCs up to 15 kilowatts should be submitted to the Sub-Divisional Officer (SDO), while applications for NOCs up to 70 kilowatts should be submitted to the Assistant Engineer (AE).
For NOCs ranging from 70 kilowatts to 500 kilowatts, applications should be submitted to the Superintending Engineer (SE).
For NOCs from 500 kilowatts to 1 megawatt, applications should be submitted to the Chief Engineer Planning.
