Lahore: Mustafa Town police have arrested a gang involved in abusing children and have rescued five children from their custody.
The police reported that the arrested suspects already had cases registered against them in Lahore and Sheikhupura for child abuse.
SHO Mustafa Town, Usman Younis, stated that DIG Operations Lahore, Muhammad Faisal Kamran, had given a special task to SP Saddar Division, Dr. Ghiyur Ahmed Khan, to apprehend the gang involved in kidnapping and abusing children.
Following the DIG’s instructions, under the supervision of ASP Circle Khadija Umar, SHO Mustafa Town Usman Younis conducted a raid in Azam Garden based on secret information and arrested two suspects, Umar Rizwan and Muhammad Naveed.
The SHO mentioned that cases were registered against the suspects in Mureedke, Data Darbar, and Mustafa Town police stations. Based on the suspects’ identification, the police rescued five children from a quarter where they had been kidnapped for abuse.
SP Saddar Division Dr. Ghiyur Ahmed Khan stated that cases have been registered against the arrested suspects and further investigation is underway. The suspects have a previous criminal record.
DIG Operations Lahore Muhammad Faisal Kamran praised ASP Circle Khadija Umar and SHO Mustafa Town Usman Younis for the arrest of the suspects, stating that immediate legal action is being taken against those who mistreat and harass children and women, and such offenders will be given strict punishment.
