Khyber: Drug dealers using google maps and other technologies for smuggling

In Khyber District, drug dealers have adopted advanced technologies to make smuggling safer.

A new drug trafficking method involving “location” has emerged in Khyber District. Major dealers operating from Khyber are now delivering drugs to various regions of the country.

According to local representatives, instead of face-to-face transactions, drug dealers now place drugs at specific locations, take pictures of them, and send these images along with the location to major smugglers in Khyber.

These smugglers then forward the pictures and locations to buyers via WhatsApp, allowing buyers to collect the drugs themselves.

This modern drug trafficking method, originating from Khyber, is also used in Gulf and Western countries.

Payments for drugs are sent to major dealers through temporary bank accounts, and this method is considered relatively secure.

Police officials report that 120 drug offenders have been arrested in Khyber District this year.

Due to the crackdown, most major smugglers have moved their operations to Peshawar, Charsadda, Mardan, and other districts.
