Defense Minister Khawaja Asif has stated that it is a misconception by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) that they might come into power after September or November.
He reaffirmed his statement about PTI founder Imran Khan, asserting that Khan should “hold on to his feet.”Khawaja Asif commented that Aleema Khan also spoke in a pleading tone during her press conference.
He emphasized that the events of May 9, which involved a rebellion, must be addressed first.
Asif noted that until the rebellion of May 9 is resolved, no progress can be made.
He added that the PTI founder has accepted responsibility for the May 9 events, although initially, he did not.
Asif mentioned that if there is to be any negotiation with political forces, the Prime Minister had previously extended offers for dialogue.
He stressed that no one can refuse to sit down for discussions, but if the PTI founder is to set the terms or provide a diktat, it cannot begin.
He criticized PTI for their 15-year rule in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, stating that instead of establishing new universities, they have been selling educational institution lands and rehabilitating terrorists.
He accused them of bankrupting the country and writing letters to the IMF.
Asif also stated that the PTI founder values only his personal interests and power.
He criticized their strategy of making grandiose statements and then resorting to hunger strikes if their demands are not met, asserting that their approach is to either intimidate or negotiate.
