Muzaffarabad: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has urged India to adopt the path of peace and resolve disputes through dialogue.
Addressing a special session of the Azad Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly via video link on Kashmir Solidarity Day, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif stated that on this day, the Indian government unlawfully seized the rights of Kashmiris in occupied Jammu and Kashmir and abrogated Article 370, granting non-state actors the illegal right to settle and purchase property in occupied Kashmir.
He remarked that for the past 77 years, millions of Kashmiris demanding the right to freedom have been subjected to injustice.
As long as Kashmiris are denied their fundamental rights, Pakistan will continue to offer moral support and knock on the doors of international institutions.
Shehbaz Sharif expressed hope that a day will come when the people of occupied Kashmir will be free from India’s occupation, and Pakistan will offer thanks in gratitude.
He emphasized that the sacrifices made by countless Kashmiris for freedom are honored, and Pakistan promises never to disregard their sacrifices.
The Prime Minister stressed that the only viable path is to adopt peace and resolve disputes through dialogue.
He called for providing Kashmiris their right to self-determination and highlighted that there is no alternative path every other route leads to destruction.
Additionally, the Prime Minister strongly condemned Israeli aggression in Gaza, calling it unprecedented in history.
He expressed solidarity with Palestinian and Kashmiri brothers and sisters, emphasizing that the martyrdom of Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh in Iran was mourned and condemned in Pakistan.
Shehbaz Sharif asserted that India will never make Kashmir a part of its territory like Palestine, no matter how much oppression it inflicts.
He predicted that Israel and India would eventually be held accountable for their injustices and would have to grant freedom to their oppressed peoples.
The Prime Minister reiterated that the only wise and peaceful course of action is for India to sit down and provide Kashmiris their right to self-determination, thereby establishing peace in the region.
All other paths lead to destruction, and the only way forward is to grant the rights of Kashmiris and Palestinians without delay.
