Kamala Harris receives warm support from her ancestors’ village in Tamil Nadu

In a village in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu, local residents have put up banners in support of U.S. presidential candidate Kamala Harris.

In the village of Thulasendrapuram, located approximately 300 kilometers from the Tamil Nadu capital, Chennai, where Harris’s maternal family hails from, a large banner supporting Kamala Harris’s presidential candidacy has been displayed.

Additional banners have also been put up in the village.

It is noteworthy that Kamala Harris, the U.S. Vice President and Democratic presidential candidate, has an Indian heritage through her mother, who was born in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, while her father was from Jamaica.

Harris’s parents later moved to the United States.
