Israel, with U.S. approval, launched assassination attempt on Ismail Haniyeh: Iranian Intelligence Minister

Iranian Intelligence Minister Ismail Khatib has claimed that the assassination attempt on Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh was carried out by Israel with the approval of the United States.

Ismail Haniyeh was killed on July 31 in Tehran while attending the inauguration ceremony of Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian.

Haniyeh’s death is considered a significant blow to the Palestinian liberation movement.

Iran has vowed to seek revenge for Haniyeh’s killing, while Israel has not yet taken responsibility for the assassination.

Previously, foreign media reported that Haniyeh was killed in a missile attack, and that Israel obtained information about his location through spyware on WhatsApp.

Later reports suggested that a bomb was pre-installed in Haniyeh’s room, and that Israel had used Iranian agents to plant the bomb. Iran is said to have photographs of these agents.

In a recent statement, Iranian Intelligence Minister Ismail Khatib claimed that the assassination attempt on Haniyeh had U.S. approval.

According to Iran’s official news agency, Khatib made this claim in a letter addressed to Haniyeh’s family, Hamas, and the Palestinian people.

Khatib stated that with U.S. support, Israel’s killing of Ismail Haniyeh further reinforced the tyranny of the Zionist state.
