Washington: U.S. President Joe Biden stated that the assassination of Ismail Haniyeh will not assist in Gaza ceasefire negotiations.
Speaking to journalists at Joint Base Andrews, President Biden expressed deep concern over the escalating tensions in the Middle East.
He emphasized that the killing of Ismail Haniyeh would not be helpful in advancing Gaza ceasefire talks.
The U.S. President mentioned that he had a direct conversation with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, urging him to prioritize the release of hostages and the establishment of a Gaza ceasefire agreement.
It is noteworthy that Ismail Haniyeh, the head of Hamas’ political wing, was reportedly killed in an alleged Israeli missile strike in Tehran, Iran, leading to further escalation of the current tensions in the Middle East.
