Islamabad IG summoned by court in missing person case

Islamabad: The High Court has summoned the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad in the case of the missing person, Faizan.

Justice Babar Sattar heard the petition filed by Faizan’s father, Usman Khan, with the petitioner’s lawyer Iman Mazari, Hadi Chatha, and state counsel along with police officials present in court.

During the hearing, the petitioner’s lawyer informed the court that Faizan had been released on Monday morning.

The court then inquired from the police officials whether any investigation had been conducted, who had taken him, and where he had gone.

The police officials replied that no investigation had yet been conducted and mentioned that a video had been uploaded.

The court expressed displeasure over the lack of investigation, asking where the video had been uploaded from.

The police officials stated that they had contacted the IT department regarding this.

Justice Babar Sattar expressed frustration, noting that four days had passed without any progress in the investigation.

The court has summoned the IGP Islamabad and adjourned the hearing.
