The Islamabad High Court has directed the removal of Senator Shibli Faraz’s name from the Exit Control List (ECL).
The court, presided over by Justice Tariq Mehmood Jahangiri, heard the case regarding Faraz’s travel restrictions.
The petitioner’s lawyer informed the court that Shibli Faraz faces four FIRs and is currently on bail for all of them.
The court inquired from the government lawyer about the grounds for continuing the restriction.
The government lawyer responded that they would comply with whatever the court orders.
Justice Tariq Mehmood Jahangiri remarked that the Ministry of Interior and the Director General of Passports had not satisfied the court.
The court ordered the removal of Faraz’s name from the ECL and instructed that a compliance report be submitted within a week.
The Islamabad High Court has adjourned the hearing while issuing orders for the Director General of Passports and the Director General of FIA to submit the implementation report.
