Iran releases final investigation report on former President Ebrahim Raisi’s helicopter crash

Tehran: Iran has released the final investigation report on the helicopter crash involving former President Ebrahim Raisi and his companions, which occurred in northern Iran and resulted in the deaths of the president, the foreign minister, and seven others.

According to Al Jazeera, the final report by the Supreme Board of the General Staff of the Armed Forces states that the helicopter crash was caused by the poor weather and environmental conditions in the region.

The report further indicates that the primary cause of the crash was the sudden onset of severe and increasing fog, which led to the helicopter colliding with a mountain.

Iranian media reports that the authorities’ released report confirms that the helicopter crash was due to adverse weather conditions.

It is noted that in May, the Iranian military’s preliminary investigation report found no evidence of an attack on the helicopter.
