Iran could surprise Israel with sudden and unexpected attacks

Geneva: Iran’s mission to the United Nations has stated that any retaliation against Israel should be carried out in such a way that Israel is left stunned by incredible and sudden attacks.

According to the Wall Street Journal, the statement from Iran’s UN mission emphasized that one objective of retaliating against Israel should be to deter anyone from attacking Iran in the future.

The Iranian mission’s statement stressed that Iran should execute a response against Israel that is extremely sudden and entirely unexpected, leaving Israelis shocked and surprised by attacks that come abruptly from either the ground or the air, or from both directions simultaneously.

The statement also noted that any retaliatory action against Israel should be considered carefully to avoid negatively impacting ceasefire negotiations in Gaza. It called for coordination regarding timing, conditions, and methods.

This statement emerged following an alleged missile attack by Israel on July 31 that reportedly killed Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh at a sensitive guesthouse in Tehran, for which Iran has vowed to retaliate against Israel.
