Lahore: Police have shortlisted 3,000 numbers through geo-fencing in the investigation of the murder of Taifi Butt’s brother-in-law, Javed Butt.
According to police sources, the authorities have shortlisted these numbers along with 60 motorcycles using Safe City footage.
However, the Safe City cameras installed at the crime scene were malfunctioning, and the main suspects have not yet been traced or arrested.
Sources further stated that police are trying to identify the suspects through footage from surrounding areas, and various teams are working on tracing the culprits.
It is worth mentioning that on September 2, Javed Butt, the brother-in-law of Taifi Butt, a suspect in the Amir Balaj murder case, was shot dead near the Muslim Town underpass in Lahore’s Achhra area. Following the incident, Qaiser Butt was named in the case.
Later, Qaiser Butt, who was named in the murder case, announced his intention to surrender.
In his video statement, Qaiser Butt said that they have no connection to the murder and will surrender to the police to clear their names.
